EXHIBITIONS  THAT I HAVE VISITED AS PART OF MY RESEARCH FOR THIS PROJECT.

ANTON ALVAREZ

About :

Anton Lavarez is a Swedish-Chillean designer based in Stockholm and London. As a graduate of  the Royal College of Art, the artist originally studied fine art and cabinetmaking  before completing an Interior Architecture and Furniture Design course at Konstfack, the University of Arts, Craft and Design in Stockholm.

His work focuses on the design of the system and the creation of tools and processes for producing products.

Reflection:

I have been truly inspired by Alvarez's exhibition, processes and tools that the artist used in his work. He proves that simple techniques can achieve outstanding results and visually interesting objects. They present functional forms with sculptural  qualities.

SENSING SPACES

About:

An exhibtion which took place at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, which shows examples of how to re-design spaces we live in. It also presents ideas on how to use pre-existing forms of architecture and new materials in order to create new structures.

Reflection:

After visiting this particular exhibtion I have gained more awareness about the role which materials play in the creation of  form and its relationship with us. How we sense space around is closely related to the materials that  the space has been build out of. It made me also realise that choosing a medium is an essential part in the design process.

WASTED MATTERS

About:

An exhibition which took place at the Boijmans Museum in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It gives an overview on the new designs that make use of our material resources in alternative ways.

Reflection:

During this exhibition I saw many examples of how designers used the waste and applied specific processes in order to create desirable designs. Materials once considered as rubbish can be turned into new valuable items. Their work really inspired me with the development of my project.
