PEOPLE
My aim in this project was to focus on the personal aspect of recyclability. I have chosen three people and looked into their daily waste and unwanted objects, which could be used again and turn into new fuctional items. Below, I collected some information about their lifestyles, their wastage and display samples that they have created during the workshop I ran with them.
Ana Lopes
Nationality: Brazilian
Age: 26 years old
About:
Ana is student living in London. Her lifestyle is very busy filled with university work. In her spare time, she like to socialise with friends.Her house is always full of people and she is very happy to cook for the visitors where baking is her favourite activity.
She lives on a student budget so her kitchen is full of items that mostly have been given to her by friends. Other items, she tries to get from cheap places such a pound shops.
Ana's waste reflects her lifestyle.
It contains: old wood spoons and forks, chopping board, cheap plastic cutlery, used silicone cupcake moulds, ice-cream moulds.
Eva Tong
Nationality: Chinese
Age: 21 years old
About:
Eva, despite her Chinese origins, has been raised in United Kingdom. She still lives at her parents' house while still studying at university. She likes to share her time between family and friends. She claims love for fine design and clean forms and materials such as marble, wood and ceramics.
Looking into her waste we can find information which mirrors hers and her family's lifestyles.
Her wastage contains: marble egg cups, marble cheese cutter, ceramic storage boxes with cork lids, wine bottle corks, metal forks, empty glass bottles, green cleanning sponges, old green pan, broken wood table mats, old straw brush, broken mirror, cake tray.
Joshua Redmore
Nationality: British
Age: 21 years old
About:
Joshua is a student who lives with his mum. Despite that fact most of the time he eats out or orders take-away food or buys food while at university.He admits his love for junk food. Reason behind that could be his busy lifestyle spread between; friends, boyfriend's house and university. Looking into his wastage these facts are clearly noticable.
His waste contains: plastic containers and cuttlery|(forks, knifes,spoons), chopsticks, fizzy drink bottles,pot scourers, blue plastic cups.
